Before Justin Timberlake's Future Sex/Love Sounds, before Helmut Lang's art à la deconstructed disco ball, was New Order's Retro.

Here they have an impressive library of album artwork designed by Mr. Peter Saville.

Rodarte x Maggie Cheung Collection (short film by Wing Shya)

It goes without saying that I love Maggie Cheung. I'm also a big fan of Wing Shya since I first watched In The Mood For Love years ago.
JOYCE is delighted to announce a truly unique charity programme in aid of UNICEF, a collaboration with critically-acclaimed fashion label Rodarte, luxury brand SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, and famous actress Maggie Cheung. Rodarte designers, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, have handmade four one-of-a-kind creations specifically for this charitable initiative. Each piece is inspired by Maggie Cheung and references one of her films: In the Mood for Love, Hero, Clean, and Heroic Trio. The four stunning pieces have been captured in a short film by Wing Shya with music by Peter Kam. For every click of the short film on YouTube from now to 31 March 2010, JOYCE will donate HK$1 to UNICEF.
Click play and enjoy the amazing visual while feeling like a humanitarian!

I'm in Seoul. In the last 72 hours, I have slept mere 10 hours. That averages about 3.333 hours of sleep a night. I've slept that little frequently while I was in architecture school, but I never had trouble with trying to sleep before. Now I understand. But more than understanding, I just want to sleep.

Sam Haskins passed away today. Why why why why why are all my favorite people dying this year ...

Source: Sam Haskins' blog

He was one of the few original artists who were able to photograph women the way they always should. I hope that his blog wont be taken down, because I'd be devastated. When you become aware of someone over the years, especially through their online presence, it hurts when that figment of connection that'd made it seem so personal goes away. If you'd felt slightly bizarre and disconcerted before because you felt a sense of closeness with someone who lived unaware of you, you'll feel even more so. RIP.

Yesterday, I finally finished the book All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy. At night I had a dream about riding a horse down the trail from Texas to Mexico. It was so weird because I'd never been to Texas or ridden a horse before, but somehow I still rode on without any hesitation. My lips got chapped from the blustering dry wind and my hair knotted and tangled. When I woke up I drank a mugful of water.

He thought that in the beauty of the world were hid a secret. He thought the world's heart beat at some terrible cost and that the world's pain and its beauty moved in a relationship of diverging equity and that in this headlong deficit the blood of multitudes might ultimately be exacted for the vision of a single flower.

From one of my favorite albums, this was Wolfgang Tillman's directorial debut ...
Goldfrapp is very enigmatic and versatile; they've got everything from fag-fabulous jams to more subtle, synth-y ambient soundscapes.

I fool myself
To sleep and dream
Nobody's there
Noone but me
